Artista Visitante / Visiting Artist 2015

Todos los años, Centro Selva invita a uno o dos artistas a que acompañen la residencia. Estos
artistas ayudan en la coordinacion y trabajan en sus proyectos personales. Este año como artista 
visitante tenemos a un antiguo participante, 

Henry Humberto Ortiz Tapia
Henry Ortiz es artista visual egresado de la Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del  Perú, en la especialidad de pintura, con estudios en escultura y modelado en el taller de escultura "Carlos Galarza" de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad Ricardo Palma. Tiene un diplomado en Diseño Gráfico   y es miembro de diversos grupos de investigación, tales como "Morflex".  Sus proyectos son de tendencia multidisciplinar, con una preferencia por el dibujo. 
Sus temáticas abordan la relación entre el hombre y el estudio de la naturaleza, confrontando la perspectiva tradicional de las ciencias formales con procesos y teorías contemporáneas que se sustentan a través de la creación de objetos y  la apropiación de  prácticas artísticas ligadas a su contexto en Lima. Ha participado en diversas muestras colectivas  y ganó el primer premio al mejor proyecto interdisciplinar en la promoción bellas artes del año 2014.


Every year, Centro Selva invites one or two artists to accompany the residency. These artists help in
the organization, and work on their personal projects. This year our visiting artist is an old participant, 

Henry Humberto Ortiz Tapia
Henry Ortiz is a visual artist with a specialization in painting from the National School of Fine Arts of Peru; he has studies in sculpture and modeling in the sculpture studio "Carlos Galarza"  of the College of Architecture of Ricardo Palma University. He has a diploma in Graphic Design  and is member of several research groups such as "Morflex". His work is multidisciplinary, with a preference for drawing.
His themes address the relationship between man and the study of nature, confronting the  traditional perspective of the formal sciences with contemporary theories and processes that are based on the creation of objects and the appropriation of artistic practices linked to their context
in Lima. Henry has participated in various group exhibitions and won first prize for the best 
interdisciplinary project of the National School of Fine Arts of Peru class of 2014.

Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia group artist in residence 2018

The Cultural Association Centro Selva Arte y Ciencia is proud to present the participants in the group artist in residence program for August 2018. Participants: Fotografia de Jordan Rathkopf Tatiana Arocha (Colombia - USA) Mi obra está basada en mi compleja relación con los paisajes vulnerables y biopolíticos que crecí explorando en mi Colombia natal, particularmente sus selvas. Creo entornos visuales inmersivos, que evocan el temor y el asombro que me invaden cuando estoy rodeada de naturaleza. En mi proceso creativo interactúo directamente con estos paisajes, fotografiando mis alrededores y recolectando muestras. Este proceso íntimo de descubrimiento contrasta con los primeros naturalistas, cuya catalogación de la naturaleza la dejó susceptible a la colonización.
